Overview

ICP is one of the top ten chains currently and I proposed, ideated and designed the entire flow for this analytics dashboard for ICP. While the basic first version is out, this version is being built by the team and will launch in June.

Throughout the design process, I focused on creating an intuitive user interface that would enhance the overall user experience and encourage engagement with the app.

The Goal

ICP has numerous decentralized applications (dapps) within its ecosystem that allow users to earn rewards. To be eligible for these rewards, users must stake their ICP tokens and participate in governance activities to make decisions for the dapps. The ICP team wants to raise awareness about these potential rewards. I was approached by the team to design a page that highlights the potential rewards available in the ICP ecosystem.

Understand, Explore, Materialise

I proposed a plan to create a marketing-style page and dashboard to achieve this goal. The idea is to provide users with data on the rewards they could earn by participating, in order to encourage engagement with the platform


  1. Daily/Event-based Available Voting Rewards (Maturity): A chart displaying the total rewards distributed for each dapp from the launch date to show stakeholders the potential earnings.

  2. Maturity chart per neuron per dapp: Providing a realistic view of potential earnings for stakeholders. Users can click on any neuron to see how maturity has grown over time based on activity in governance, tokens staked, dissolve delay, etc.

  3. Neuron Leaderboard (based on voting and number of followers): Offering users data to make informed decisions on which neuron to follow for a specific topic.

  4. Overall Voting Participation: Encouraging stakeholders to get involved early and potentially gain more rewards, while also helping the DAO to adjust reward parameters if needed. Building this dashboard will also provide historical data from the launch date.

    *wallets are called neurons and dapps are called SNS in ICP ecosystem.

My goal was to create a user-friendly interface that would provide stakeholders with the necessary data to make informed decisions. I believed that by displaying the potential rewards that users could earn by participating in ICP's governance process in a easy to understand way, we can encourage more engagement from the community.

Results and Outcomes:

The final outcome is a user-friendly and engaging dashboard that exceeded the ICPs expectations. Users in the usability tests were able to easily view rewards, follow neurons and get a good idea of how much they could potentially earn from their ICP.

The final version of this is still in build and I shall update this space soon!
